Who You Are The Service Support Engineer, configures and manages the data and video technical infrastructure and provides support on customer connectivity services, reporting hierarchically to the Manager, GEO Service Support. What You’ll Do Ensure the availability of broadband services in production, respecting the SLA and guaranteeing a quick intervention to manage the service and infrastructural events Develop a deep knowledge of end-to-end services ensuring the technical mastery of each system and subsystem involved Configure and manage the baseband satellite technical infrastructures Provide customer service support ensuring a high level of service quality Manage and maintain satellite network access systems, applications and ground equipment What it Takes Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering or related fields Basic knowledge of satellite communications, radiofrequency and video broadcasting Knowledge of ISO/OSI stack, networking and routing (e.g., OSPF, MPLS) protocols Experience in configuring networking devices and Juniper/Cisco certifications are an asset Knowledge of Unix-based computer operating systems, networking tools (e.g., Telnet, SSH, FTP/SCP) and standard business software (spreadsheets, word processing, presentations) Basic experience in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl) and knowledge of database management (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) Good troubleshooting skills and ability to work the assigned shifts with on-call rotation Fluent written and spoken English is compulsory, Italian is a strong asset What We’d Love Experience in configuring networking devices and Juniper/Cisco certifications are an asset.
