Job Objective Candidate shall be able to manage the whole lifecycle of a bid or a project from a technical point of view, for a Signalling System in Transportation Domain project. Responsibilities In the context of Engineering accountability, is responsible for all technical activities: identifying and analysing the requirements (Contractual and System Requirements phase), defining the architecture, allocating the requirements to the system components, defining the interfaces between components, developing solutions (System Design and Development phases), integrating, verifying, validating and qualifying the system (System Integration and Acceptance phases) Is responsible for the conformity with requirements, quality, performance, Customer satisfaction budget and schedule relevant to his Engineering work package Proposes the technical solution and the general application, network architecture, equipment positioning and coverage to support the virtualized environment Ensures requirements management and their allocation to subsystems/components Plans and oversees configuration management activities and solution integrity with the Configuration Manager Support for deployment/installation and site acceptance activities Ensures coordination and communication among the various players in technical activities and a smooth transition of responsibility to "Installation and Commissioning" organization Is the main technical interface for the Customer Counterpart for his subsystems Coordinates with his technical Customer Counterpart according to Contractual requirement Participates to Project Meetings (internal and external: with the Customer, Hitachi Rail subcontractors and other entities) when scheduled and/or requested. Compiles reports concerning his role and responsibilities according to internal reporting procedure. Drafts official letters and correspondence to be sent to the Customer. Coordinates and controls of the different Vendors / Manufacturers, Suppliers and Subcontractors Correctly applies Quality procedures and HSE procedures and instruction Properly deals with other Contractors to manage external interfaces with the Interface Manager Allocates and co‑ordinates human and physical resources in his team (if any) Continually reviews the technical Scope of Work and keeps updated the scope baseline informing constantly the PM, the Contract Manager and the Solution Engineering Manager Proposes variation requests to SEM for submitting to the Customer Assists the PM/SEM, the Contract Manager and the Sales department in the technical negotiation of the change proposalsand external when scheduled and/or requested. Supports the Contract Manager in preparing the Claim Files (towards Vendors, Subcontracts and Customer) Supports the technical bid contributing to the offer preparation for Radio System, Wireless Transmission System (WTS) and related applications Contributes to the preparation of the list of deliverables Refines acceptance procedure principles and Integration, Verification, Validation, Qualification, Acceptance Plan with the help of Integration Manager and the approval of the SEM Coordinates with Purchasing Department for the technical content of RFQ, for Offers evaluation and Suppliers selection Supports the Purchasing Department in the definition of subcontracts and standard clauses to be inserted in the Sub Contract Agreement and in the Purchase Orders Qualifications Min. 5 years’ experience in Railways product, system and application design and configuration; in particular, experience in Railway Signalling homologation process with RFI is appreciated. Experience in LRT Signalling product, system and application design and configuration (both wayside and onboard) and relevant communication protocols and interfaces Good knowledge of CENELEC / IEC railway standards EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, IEC 61508, etc. Good knowledge of EMI/EMC international standards (IEC 61000, EN 50121, etc.). Good knowledge of Italian Railways applicable standards e.g. N.T. IS 402, IS 046, IS 717, ISO 2859/I, etc. Good knowledge of Safety Assurance / RAMS discipline, processes and documentation (Hazard Analysis, FMECA, FTA, Safety Cases, etc.). Experience with the methodologies for analysis and specifying systems. Experience with specification and documentation of complex technical systems. Knowledge of and experience with general-purpose tools (MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio). Knowledge of job‑specific tools (e.g. Polarion, AutoCAD). Proven qualifications obtained for ACEI design (IS‑0, IS‑1) and/or for CBI design (IS‑A, IS‑B) are appreciated. Proven qualifications obtained for SST‑SCMT design and verification categories (1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C) and for test & commissioning categories (4A, 4B, 5A, 5B) are appreciated. Knowledge of main Rolling Stock standards (EN 50155, EN 50121‑3‑2, EN 13452‑1/2, EN 61373, IEC 61375) is appreciated. The candidate must have developed through his professional experiences the capability of managing relationship with other departments, Customers and Suppliers.
