Field Piping Engineer Rotterdam, Netherlands (on-site) Sector: EPC – Oil & Gas For a leading EPC contractor operating in the Oil & Gas sector, we are looking for a Field Piping Engineer to join a major international project in the Netherlands. The professional will be the key technical reference on-site, acting as a direct extension of the Project Technical Office to ensure the success of construction activities. Piping Monitoring & Analysis: Evaluate constructability and identify technical discrepancies in 2D/3D CAD models and drawings, issuing Requests for Information (RFI) to the Client when necessary. Construction Support: Verify technical documentation, prepare detailed material take-offs, and provide the construction team with all necessary data for execution. Document Management: Prepare Construction Method Statements (CMS) and maintain updated Red Mark-ups for isometrics, P&IDs, and plant layouts. Quality & Compliance: Supervise piping installation to ensure full adherence to project specifications, drawings, and safety standards. Subcontractor Oversight: Interface with QA/QC and construction teams to monitor subcontractor performance and technical compliance. Problem Solving: Proactively anticipate and resolve field engineering issues in coordination with the project’s technical and site functions. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in project technical documentation (P&IDs, isometrics, material specs) and experience in piping installation and construction support. Excellent ability to anticipate technical criticalities and resolve field issues in collaboration with construction and engineering departments. Solid track record of working directly on-site, with a strong aptitude for coordinating technical office requirements with field operations. Quality Control: Familiarity with QA/QC processes specifically focused on piping systems and mechanical assembly. Languages: Good command of English and Italian, both written and spoken. Experience: 5+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector, preferably with a focus on piping engineering and construction within large-scale industrial projects. Mobility: Ability to be based full-time on-site in Rotterdam for the project duration. Citizenship: Must already hold a valid EU citizenship or a valid work permit for the European territory.
