Job Role - Solution Architect Location - Milan, Italy Job Description: Define and maintain the program target-state architecture across application, data, integration, and cloud platform layers Establish and govern reference migration patterns (rehost / replatform / refactor) Create solution design packs per migration wave (HLD / wave-level LLD inputs) Develop and maintain dependency and integration maps (internal systems, external interfaces, data flows) Governance & Decision Management Own and maintain the Architecture Decision Log (ADR) with rationale and trade-offs Manage the exception register for deviations from architectural standards, including approvals and mitigation controls Produce architecture governance outputs , including design reviews, sign-offs, and audit-ready documentation Risk & Constraints Management Perform wave-level risk and constraint assessments , covering technical, integration, security, and readiness aspects Work closely with delivery, platform, and DevOps teams to track and mitigate architectural risks Stakeholder Collaboration Act as the architecture interface between client stakeholders, cloud platform teams, security/compliance, DevOps, and migration squads Support governance forums and ensure adherence to architectural guardrails and regulatory expectations Required Skills & Experience Mandatory 10+ years of IT experience with strong Solution Architecture background Proven experience in large-scale cloud migration programs , preferably in banking or financial services Strong understanding of: Application and integration architecture Non-functional requirements (security, performance, resiliency) Dependency and interface management Experience producing architecture artifacts: Target-state architecture Solution design packs ADRs, exception registers, and risk assessments Google Cloud (Preferred) Hands-on experience designing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Familiarity with migration factory / wave-based delivery models and DevSecOps-aligned architectures Certifications (Preferred) Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect (preferred) For more information on how we process your personal data, please refer to HCLTech’s Candidate Data Privacy Notice.
