CMCC Position cod. 12830 - Electronics Technician (Deadline: June 3rd, 2026) Role The Electronics Technician, reporting to the GOCO Division (Advanced Observing Systems Research Unit), will support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of electronic systems for oceanographic applications. Responsibilities include the development and calibration of sensors and data acquisition systems, as well as the installation, operation, and maintenance of oceanographic instrumentation. Responsibilities Collaborating in the design and development of electronic circuits for oceanographic applications. Calibrating sensors and assisting in the design of data acquisition systems. Performing soldering tasks, including both through‑hole and SMD soldering. Operating electrical measuring instruments and working with analog and digital electronics, power electronics, and optoelectronics. Supporting the installation and maintenance of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) during field operations. Requirements Education Degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, or related fields. Skills Strong problem‑solving skills in engineering contexts. Proactive approach to electronic design and development. Effective teamwork and collaboration in interdisciplinary environments. Technical Knowledge Proven experience in the design and development of electronic circuits. Knowledge of electronic design software (e.g., Eagle Autodesk, Altium Designer) and programming environments (e.g., Keil uVision, STM32CubeIDE, Arduino IDE). Experience with at least one programming language (Python, C++, or Arduino). Additional Skills (Desirable) Experience with embedded systems and renewable energy‑based electrification. Familiarity with the installation and operation of oceanographic instrumentation. DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Open to both internal and external candidates. Based in Civitavecchia. Initial appointment 12 months starting July 1st, gross annual salary €24,000‑€28,000; contract may be extended 2 to 4 years. Welfare package available for contracts of at least 12 months. Flexible working hours in accordance with internal policies. Support during the immigration process, if needed.
