PRIMARY FUNCION Responsible of the Prototype Build Up Workshop in Turin Responsible of the Prototype Build Up Workshop in Suzzara Responsible of the Machining in Turin ESSENTIAL RESPONSABILITIES The Prototype Construction Workshop Manager is a key figure who acts as a link between the technical department (ENG) and vehicle and bench testing (TVO / TBO). Their main objective is to produce working prototypes, ensuring that quality, deadlines and costs are met. The main responsibilities and duties include: Management and Coordination of the Turin and Suzzara Teams: Organizing and coordinating workshop staff, assigning tasks, monitoring work progress and resolving internal conflicts Prototype Production Planning: Managing the scheduling of workshop activities, defining production priorities to meet deadlines in collaboration with the Prototype Managers. Prototype Construction: Overseeing the physical construction of prototypes (chassis, cab, electrics, etc.), ensuring compliance with CAD drawings, assembly diagrams and functional specifications. Quality Control: Ensuring that prototypes meet the required structural, functional and quality requirements through checks prior to delivery to the customer (TVO / TBO) and providing appropriate documentation. Safety and Training: Ensure operator safety by ensuring they are trained on risks and that procedures comply with regulations. Engineering Change Management: Manage changes made to prototypes during production in collaboration with the engineering team and Prototype Managers, using the appropriate company tools (DIM). Process Optimization: Identify the best technological and production solutions for prototype manufacturing, optimizing the use of equipment and minimizing waste. Management of Material and Technical Resources: Optimize the use of machinery, equipment maintenance (including the Machining department) and the management of raw materials required for construction. REQUIREMENTS Technical Requirements: Knowledge of production processes: detailed knowledge of manufacturing technologies: CNC milling and turning, precision manual machining, welding, assembly, and often additive technologies (3D printing). Reading technical drawings: Ability to interpret complex 2D drawings and 3D models, with particular attention to dimensional and geometric tolerances. Knowledge of materials: Ability to select and work with different materials (metals, special alloys, engineering plastics). Professional Experience: Previous experience: significant work experience (typically at least 3–5 years) is required as a skilled operator or senior technician in precision engineering workshops, R&D departments or prototyping units. Workshop experience: Practical knowledge of maintenance, set-up and fine-tuning of machinery. Management and Organizational Skills: Planning and scheduling: Workflow management, prioritization and adherence to deadlines (short lead times typical of prototyping). Resource coordination: Ability to manage and lead workshop staff. Supplier management: coordinating with external suppliers for specialist machining or other operations
