Location/s: Genoa, IT / Belgrade, Serbia Relocation supported: Not supported, but internal applications are welcome Overview of the Role Our team based in the United Kingdom and Italy is growing and we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join us. We seek a mechanical engineer with experience in combined cycles who can lead our detailed design thermal process engineering team as well as owner engineering services. Key Responsibilities and Duties Work on project delivery and support proposals for combined cycle projects, simple cycle gas turbine plants, hydrogen, CCUS, and general energy transition projects Lead the process engineering team to deliver detail design services Provide consultancy and owner engineering services on projects Support proposal preparation and collaborate with other MM Group offices for proposals and project delivery Travel abroad to meet clients during project delivery and proposals Deliver projects in accordance with agreed schedules at various stages, including feasibility, planning, tender stage technical drawings, specifications, and construction drawings, and monitor design compliance during construction for power plant applications Coordinate with client project teams and internal disciplines within Mott MacDonald, including civil, mechanical, and environmental teams Enhance business development by delivering projects in new technologies such as hydrogen, CCUS, and thermal transition Candidate Specification – Essential Mechanical Engineer with an MS degree in mechanical engineering and adequate experience in thermal power plant design and project implementation from proposal to implementation (engineering, procurement, construction) phase and performance testing Experience in international projects and international environmental contexts Competence/knowledge in gas turbines, steam turbines, steam and water cycle, BoP systems for power plants Experience leading a team Good understanding of basic and detailed design of thermal power plants, combined cycles, open cycle gas turbines, CHP, and related technologies Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency in English Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion We put equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of our business and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels they can contribute.
