We’re hiring: Robotics Software Engineer – Mobile Robotics At ALTO Robotics we build intelligent autonomous mobile robots designed for real industrial environments. We are looking for a Robotics Software Engineer who enjoys working on real robotic systems — from development to deployment in the field. This role is ideal for engineers who like hands-on problem solving, system integration and seeing robots operate in real-world environments. What you will work on Development of software for autonomous mobile robots Integration of navigation, localization and robot control modules Testing and debugging on real robotic platforms Integration between robotics software and hardware components Support during system validation and field deployment Collaboration with electronics, mechanical and operations teams What we are looking for Good experience with C++ and Python Experience with ROS2 or robotics middleware Background in robotics, automation or autonomous systems Familiarity with Linux environments Hands-on mindset and practical problem-solving attitude Interest in working on real robotic products ➕ Nice to have Experience with mobile robots (AMR/AGV) Experience with SLAM, navigation or motion planning Experience with simulation tools (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, RViz) Familiarity with embedded systems or industrial communication protocols Exposure to computer vision or perception systems Why join ALTO You will work on real robots deployed in the field You will directly contribute to product development and deployment You will be part of a small and focused engineering team You will work across multiple layers of the robotics stack Location Genoa, Italy — on-site / hybrid ⚠️ Important This role is best suited for engineers who enjoy building and testing robotic systems in real environments.
