NETWORK ENGINEER – Packet Core Network Through the Digital Services Division we design, build and maintain innovative solutions in the field of networking, network security, cybersecurity, data center, technology plant, cloud, and high‑capacity optical transport networks. Resources, as part of the team located in Rome, will: Draft and maintain architectural technical documentation (HLD & LLD) for Packet Core solutions (EPC/5GC) dedicated to IoT/M2M contexts. Govern the implementation of architectures for the secure interconnection between the mobile Core Network and the client’s data centers (e.g. private APN, IPsec tunnels, BGP routing). Ensure operational continuity by providing second‑ and third‑tier support and maintaining technical governance throughout the lifetime of the Packet Core network. Govern tuning, capacity planning and optimisation activities of Core nodes (PGW/UPF, SGW, MME/AMF) to maximise performance and meet service SLAs. REQUISITI ESSENZIALI University bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Mastery of 3GPP Packet Core architectures (4G EPC, 5G) and associated signalling and data transport flows (GTPv1/v2, Diameter, Radius). Experience writing technical documentation (HLD/LLD) and governing network solutions for telco operators or large enterprises. Strong foundation in traditional IP/networking: good knowledge of the TCP/IP stack, dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VRF architectures and VPN/IPsec technologies. Autonomous end‑to‑end network governance skills. REQUISITI PREFERENZIALI Previous experience with specific vendor Packet Core nodes such as Athonet (preferred), Nokia or similar. Knowledge of network optimisations for the IoT/M2M and smart‑metering domain. Familiarity with Policy Control and Charging architectures.
