The role You will be working in a multicultural and multi‑disciplinary group, where experts in engineering, artificial intelligence, energy systems, and data science collaborate with their own expertise to carry out common research. The Center for Sustainable Future Technologies at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) seeks to appoint a junior technician who will have a key role in monitoring and implementing the activities necessary for the successful completion of the MASE PREDICT programme, in particular for the learning activities under IIT responsibility. In particular, the activity will include: Technology mapping and gap analysis for predictive maintenance platforms Collection and structuring of requirements from grid stakeholders (DSO, industrial operators, CER managers); drafting of the deliverable technical report including functional requirements catalogue and glossary Systematic survey of technical‑scientific literature and commercial solutions in predictive maintenance; multi‑criteria comparative matrix of analysed platforms; gap quantification; drafting of deliverable technical report Cross‑cutting activities: periodic technical reporting, IIT timesheet preparation, participation in management committee meetings, document management on project SharePoint, and monitoring of IIT learning activity progress Essential requirements MSc in Science, Engineering, Physics, or equivalent degree Good technical writing skills in Italian and English Previous experience in technologies for the energy and/or environmental transitions Previous experience in applied research or technical project management (desirable) Additional skills Ability to work in a challenging and international environment Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment Possess analytical reasoning skills and a growth mindset If candidates are equally qualified, prior work experience at the organization will be considered a factor in favor of the candidate Compensation package A yearly gross salary up to €30,000, which may include a bonus option depending on your role and contract Private health care coverage depending on your role and contract Candidates from abroad or Italian citizens who have carried scientific research activity permanently abroad and meet specific requirements may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years This open position is financed by “Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica – Mission Innovation 2.0” – Project code MI_DDR_00299, project “Piattaforma per Reti Digitalizzate, Intelligenti e Connesse per la Transizione energetica” (PREDICT) – CUP F53C .
