The Company: OXBO are partnered with a well-established European IPP within the renewable energy industry with a large portfolio and real project pipeline. They are looking for a SCADA Specialist to join their team in Italy. The Role: The SCADA Specialist will lead the design, integration, and commissioning of SCADA systems across utility-scale BESS and collocated renewable energy projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in multi-vendor SCADA environments, substation integration, and grid-connected systems. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams, EPC contractors, OEMs, and grid operators across several European countries. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, integration, and commissioning of SCADA systems for utility-scale BESS and renewable energy projects. Manage multi-vendor SCADA integration across BESS, PV, substations, and OEM platforms. Oversee SCADA commissioning activities, including testing, validation, alarms, and control logic. Coordinate substation SCADA integration and ensure compliance with DNO/TSO requirements. Troubleshoot communication protocols and system interfaces, including Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC-UA, and DNP3. Ensure cybersecurity standards and best practices are implemented across SCADA systems. Prepare and review technical documentation, FAT/SAT procedures, and commissioning reports. Collaborate with internal teams, EPC contractors, OEMs, and grid operators across international projects. Requirements: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Proven experience working with SCADA systems within renewable energy, power generation, or industrial automation environments. Strong understanding of communication protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC-UA, and DNP3). Experience managing complex multi-vendor SCADA integrations. Hands-on commissioning experience, including substation SCADA integration with grid operators. Ability and willingness to travel across multiple European countries. Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities. Fluent English language skills; additional European languages are advantageous.
