Are you ready to make an impact on the future of decommissioning and waste management? As a Licensing Officer Assistant, you will be an integral part of the team supporting the Decommissioning & Waste Management (D&WM) Programme. Reporting to the Resource Leader, you will help prepare, organize, and review licensing documentation for both operating and decommissioning facilities. Your work will contribute directly to safe, compliant operations and project success. Key Responsibilities Assist senior staff in preparing licensing documentation, periodic reports, and drafting sections of licensing reports, technical documents, and safety files using provided templates and instructions. Draft, format, and update technical notes, licensing files, supporting annexes, and maintain licensing documentation and records in accordance with project and client standards. Gather, organize, and verify technical inputs for licensing and safety documentation, ensuring completeness, traceability, and compliance with procedures. Help prepare clearance dossiers, draft responses to competent authorities, and support environmental licensing processes (EIA) for decommissioning and interim waste storage projects. Participate in internal reviews of licensing strategies to identify gaps or inconsistencies and coordinate technical input from decommissioning, waste management, and radiation protection teams. Track document review and approval timelines, update internal schedules and status reports, and prepare summaries, meeting notes, and technical briefs for the project team. Contribute to safety analyses and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project objectives. Mandatory Conditions Full on-site presence required in the Province of Varese, 5 days per week. Applicants must reside in the area or be fully willing and able to relocate to the Province of Varese. Other engineering backgrounds considered with experience in the nuclear field, even if limited. Experience: 0–3 years or 5/6 years of professional experience, or recent graduates with relevant academic background, thesis, or internship in licensing, safety, environmental, or nuclear topics. Regulations/Standards: Academic-level understanding of nuclear safety principles, environmental permitting, and regulatory frameworks. Languages: English B2 (mandatory); Italian B2 (mandatory). Basic knowledge of licensing and regulatory frameworks for nuclear, decommissioning, or waste management facilities. Understanding of safety principles and technical document processes for complex industrial sites. Ability to work methodically with technical documentation, following structured templates and procedures. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Team player ready to learn from senior professionals and work across disciplines. Clear written communication in technical contexts.
