Vishay Italy is currently seeking applicants for the role of Sr. Mgr. Modules Characterization & Product Engineer . This position is based in Borgaro Torinese (TO, Italy), within the R&D team of the Power Modules Subdivision, reporting to the Head of R&D and Product Engineering at the Borgaro Design Center. Job Location Vishay Semiconductor Italiana Spa, Borgaro Torinese (TO, Italy). The site focuses on design, development and production of power diodes and power modules, with around 300 employees. What You Will Be Doing Managing the product engineering group responsible for concepting, characterizing, releasing, and managing all power module products from an electrical standpoint. Elaborating target datasheets for new products, estimating key performance data based on datasheets and package characteristics, and using simulations when needed. Designing the electrical part of the power module, specifying, selecting, and evaluating the die and other components to be integrated. Characterizing power module electrical performance, performing all necessary measurements and designing specific boards to reduce stray inductance. Simulating electromagnetic behavior of a power module using FEM software, including parasitics extraction. Designing test sequences and parameters for specific power modules, and selecting test machines if required. Addressing issues on the existing product portfolio at Vishay manufacturing or at customer application sites. Managing workload of employees, assigning tasks and overseeing group activities. Developing employees to follow suitable professional paths based on their characteristics. Responding to customer requests by producing product specifications or concepting new products, including direct interaction with customers during development. What You Will Bring Along Knowledge of power semiconductors, including technological processes, key characteristics, failure mechanisms, and behavior in circuit applications. Master’s degree in electronic engineering with courses in electronic device physics and power electronics. 5‑10 years of experience in a company covering the listed topics. Knowledge of main power conversion circuits (rectifier/inverter bridges, power factor correctors, DC‑DC converters). Expertise in electrical modeling, including parasitics. Proficiency in electrical measurements. Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team in a worldwide company, leveraging R&D teams globally. Willingness to travel to various sites worldwide and to customer sites if needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Cadence Allegro Package Designer X, PSPICE (or equivalent) for circuit design and simulation, parasitics extraction tools (Clarity, Q3D), JMP/Minitab, and CAD for test adaptor design.
