As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your expertise to help build advanced technology solutions and lead data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll guide data engineering activities by overseeing the development and deployment of pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. You’ll mentor a multi‑disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast‑paced, agile environment. You’ll use your expertise in analytical exploration and data examination while you oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients. Serve as a strategic advisor for senior decision makers for their data transformation efforts and provide recommendations on aligning data to strategic objectives. Lead a team of highly skilled data scientists and engineers to support data transformation efforts and act as the primary representative for project management. Coordinate and synchronize efforts across various stakeholders and at the enterprise level. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in application development 5+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing and maintaining complex data applications at enterprise scale 5+ years of experience creating software for retrieving, parsing and processing structured and unstructured data Experience in program management, particularly for data or engineering projects. Knowledge of data governance, analytics, and enterprise IT infrastructure. Experience supervising others and leading projects and deliverables within a collaborative, cross‑functional team environment TS/SCI clearance Bachelor’s degree Nice to Have 5+ years of experience using Python, SQL, Scala, or Java 5+ years of experience with Distributed data or computing tools including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka 5+ years of experience with Agile engineering practicesExperience leading teams to accomplish complex tasks Master's degree in a technical or management field PMP Certification Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required. Compensation Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
