Position Snapshot Job Req ID: 55200Type of work: HybridType of contract: Fixed term/temporaryFull/Part Time: Full timeLocation: ROMA, IT About the Role Environmental Engineer for Product and Operations (Temporary) Job Purpose Moving from the Bridgestone Global Environmental Mission Statement and Long term Vision, inspired by the new Bridgestone E8 Commitment, the EMIA Environment function supports the business unit to develop a roadmap to create, keep and enhance environmental mindset and values in all phases of our value chain, working both with our employees and engaging our customers and suppliers. The function plays a key role within the Regional Sustainability Committee and Global Environmental Working Group, bringing our expertise in setting global/regional environmental strategy and managing main environmental issues. In the framework of our sustainability journey and to contribute to a more sustainable society, it is increasingly important to evaluate the chemicals we use in our products and solutions in terms of impact to the environment and human health. Responsibilities Assure compliance of our products and mobility solutions to applicable regulation and OEM standards regarding chemical substances content. Assure proper implementation by our operations of company and regulatory environmental requirements/standards. Confirm Safety Data Sheets compliance vs. REACh regulation, Bridgestone Standards, Car Manufacturers (OEMs) requirements and other Chemicals Restriction Lists. Monitor REACH SVHC List, Authorisation List and Restriction Lists, GASDL updates and check compliance vs current lineup. Maintain updated OEMs requirements in terms of chemical substances (declarable / prohibited substances, communication, …) and check compliance vs current lineup. Facilitate discussion with R&D, procurement, digital Garage to understand needs and requirements related to main Chemicals Regulation. Join discussions with procurement team and suppliers to explain needed documents. Control status of IMDS submissions for each supply to OEMs and manage rejections on time. Manage Seveso/ADR compliance topics. Ensure timely and full reporting of initiatives related to Biodiversity program. Summarize environmental performances of Retail and Retreading operations vs. company requirements. Confirm implementation of company environmental standards in our operations. Ensure proper implementation of corrective actions in each business as planned. Contribute to digitalization of environmental process. Working Relationships Functions located in Technical Center: EMEA H&S, Tyre & material development, Raw material Procurement, System Engineering. Public Affairs and Communication, OEMs Key Account Managers, EHS windows in plants/retail/logistics. Functions involved in environmental affairs in other regions: Bridgestone America and Bridgestone Japan. Qualifications & Experience Education: Degree in Engineering/Chemistry/Natural Science/Environmental Science or related field. Desirable: Master on Management of Chemicals – REACH, CLP, Evaluation and Management of Chemicals Risk. Desirable: Master on Sustainability and ESG reporting. Experience: 1-3 years in the industry, past experience in automotive/tyre sectors. Technical skills: Safety Data Sheets evaluation vs. chemicals regulations (REACh, CLP), product stewardship, compliance, quality control, substances REACh registration, ISO 14001, EHS role on site, ESG reporting. Language skills: Fluent English (spoken and written), other languages welcome.
