SOMMELIER Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como’s Sommelier is in charge of suggesting and serving wine to all guests and customers in an impeccably manner, ensuring that quality standards are met at all times. Duties and responsibilities: Ensure that the wine list is continuously updated, focusing on Italian and local products and labels. Serve all beverage orders in a professional manner, using the correct equipment and following the proper procedures. Recommend wine to guests according to their requirements. Take beverage orders, promoting up‑selling techniques. Advise and train the service team on all aspects of beverage service. Maintain accurate sales records of wines and spirits. Control the stock levels of all beverage items. Assist with the service of food when and if necessary. Requirements: Previous working experience in a fine‑dining restaurant, preferably in a 5‑star luxury resort/hotel. Fluent in English and Italian. Willing to learn and able to work under pressure.
